No specific info really.  It was just a quick heads up on some of the things that are in the build.  And I got the impression that what they did mention was not intended to be all inclusive.

Ask them. They post on the iRacing forums.

Online Status

- We have added new functionality to help you to determine what your friends / studied / searched for drivers are doing on the service and to easily join their race session or join as a spectator.

This new information is available in two places. First of all we have completely reworked the myRacing - myRacers page. This page now displays a sortable table showing your friend / studied racers along with checkboxes to filter the display. There is an online/offline indicator. If the indicator is green it means that the member has been online within the last 2 hours. If the indicator is red we will display the time of their last login. If a member is currently registered for a session you will see details of their session. If the session is joinable for either racing or watching you can do so from this page.

In order to implement this feature with acceptable performance we now limit your number of friends and studied to be a maximum of 50 each.

- A new myRacers popup is always available just to the left of your iRating towards the top right of the members site UI. A label dynamically updates to display a total of how many of your friends + studied racers are currently online. Mousing over this label will display a list of your online drivers. An icon to the left of each driver's helmet will indicate if you can join their session either as a driver or spectator.

- There is a new setting on the general tab of the settings panel that enables you to hide your online status from other members. At this time this is a simple toggle on/off. If you decide to hide your status, people who have you on their friends or studied list or search for your information will see see "Member information is private" next to your name on the "My racers" page.

- There is a new label beneath the iRacing logo on the top left of the member’s site UI that dynamically updates to display the total number of unique iRacers who have been online in the last 2 hours.

And my favorite.....

Lotus 79

- Rev limiter is removed.

it's much more manageable with the new shifting model than the old model. The old model goes into neutral the instant you click a shift button so it is really easy to pop the motor if you haven't lifted first. The new model won't go into neutral until you lift off the gas, so it's not really possible to accidentally over-rev during regular upshifts.

This means people won't be able to flat shift in most cars... that is if the transmission model is as good as I think/hope it is.

Re: New build sneak peak

Little more on the trans model.

you have to click and hold a button (or take the h-pattern out of gear and perhaps grab the next gear) to tell the sim you're pushing on the gear lever trying to make a shift, but it won't come out of gear if the transmission is too loaded, requiring a lift before it will pop through neutral and try and grab the next gear. Same applies on downshifts, if you're too much on gas or totally off gas you'll have to blip or lift to get it out of gear.

Yes, it's a bit different than what people are used to, and yes, different types of cars respond differently whether they're synchro cars or dog-box cars or totally computerized. Common gear shift problems initially will be from not holding the button long enough and getting hung in neutral (this isn't a problem with h-patterns, as they are constantly holding the target gear), blipping before pressing downshift (so it doesn't actually come out of gear) and not ending up down a gear. etc. etc. more details in the release notes later.

SUHWEEEEEEEEEEET BYE BYE THROTTLE BRAKERS LICK MY DICK!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's still a problem... what happens if someone uses auto clutch and blip? If they aren't making that slower, the aliens then have it even easier, all they need to do is brake and gas. FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

There is an easy solution to this but I bet it would start a mutiny among the elite.  At some determined point in your iracing rating your ability to use autoclutch and blip is taken away.

That way us slow folks can still race and learn and the aliens who glitch the system are forced to play properly.

Re: New build sneak peak

Meh. Until i have all the gear to drive realistically I won't be...

Anyway, huge update. Good lord. 755 MB download. Might be the biggest yet in my 18+ months on the service. Looks like everything was touched.
